I was at his bedside every day from 10-6 and Ann was a beacon of hope, help, and immense knowledge.
Ann was one of the main nurses my husband had during his time in the ICU. He had an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in our home. He had many obstacles to overcome, including any damage to his brain that may have occurred. I was at his bedside every day from 10-6 and Ann was a beacon of hope, help, and immense knowledge. She was kind, compassionate, and sensitive not only to my husband as she cared for him, but also to me. I watched her give my husband everything he needed to be set up for success.

This same woman who was an extraordinary professional was also always concerned that my husband’s dignity and privacy were honored even when he was sedated. She spoke to him each time she moved him, medicated him, or cleaned him up. She was aware at all times of how he was progressing and thinking ahead to what he needed next. Amidst all this, she became my rock and anchor in the hardest storm of my life. She answered my questions truthfully, she gave me room to cry, she helped me understand the unthinkable and she was always patient and kind. Her immense knowledge, her kind heart, her awareness of my husband’s needs, and mine combined with her tenderness are beyond words. She is truly the best of the best! We are so grateful for everything she did for us.
