August 2026 Honoree
Ann Tabary, DNP, RN, CPHQ, CMCN
Mrs. Ann has been one of the biggest role models throughout my nursing school journey. She doesn’t just teach us how to pass exams; she teaches us how to become safe, compassionate nurses who put patients first. She shares real-life experiences that help connect what we’re learning in class to what we’ll actually see in practice.
She is always willing to answer questions, no matter how simple they may seem, and she encourages us to think critically instead of just memorizing information. She truly wants every student to succeed and never makes anyone feel like they’re a burden for asking for help.
One thing that sets Mrs. Ann apart is how much she truly cares about her students. She treats everyone with kindness, patience, and respect, regardless of where they are in their learning. She has always made herself available outside of class, whether it was answering phone calls, responding to emails, or taking extra time to explain something we didn’t understand.
She creates an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions without fear of being embarrassed or judged. You can tell she genuinely wants every student to be successful, not just academically, but personally and professionally.
Mrs. Ann encourages teamwork and creates a classroom where students feel comfortable learning from one another while supporting each other. She works closely with students to make sure we have the resources we need and is always willing to communicate with faculty when necessary to help us succeed.
She values open communication, treats everyone with respect, and helps create a positive learning environment where students, faculty, and staff work together toward the same goal of preparing safe and compassionate nurses.
