Anna Alday, RN

Anna is an exemplary nurse, kind and encouraging, and eager to care. Recently, RN Alday was assigned to an elderly patient with terminal cancer and an inoperable bowel perforation. Due to circumstances, this patient did not have family or social support at the bedside. However, she did tell Anna that she loved singing and roses. I witnessed Nurse Alday and her supervisor listening carefully as this patient sweetly sang her hymns and, later that day, when I returned to visit, there were a dozen beautiful roses in an arrangement at her bedside courtesy of Nurse Anna! To me, Anna's selfless love for this patient was an inspiring expression of our sacred work and mission.
