Following my procedure, I was confronted with a significant administrative quandary. Despite multiple prior confirmations of an overnight stay, my admission status was abruptly rescinded. As a Veteran residing 90 miles from the hospital and lacking local support, I was in a state of acute vulnerability, medically unfit to operate a vehicle, and without a safe environment for recuperation.

In this moment of distress, Anna Bingham intervened with remarkable professionalism and tenacity. Rather than succumbing to the inertia of the revised orders, she:

• Navigated the Hierarchy: She adhered strictly to the established chain of command while articulating the clinical and ethical necessity of my stay.

• Demonstrated Mission-Driven Resolve: She worked tirelessly to resolve the discrepancy, ultimately securing a bed and ensuring my safety was not compromised by a premature discharge.

• Exemplified the "I CARE" Values: Her advocacy and "TLC" represent the pinnacle of patient-centered care. She is an invaluable asset to the Omaha VA and a paradigm of excellence for her peers to emulate.

I praise Nurse Bingham with the highest esteem and accolades. She is a credit to the nursing profession and a stalwart guardian of the Veterans she serves.

Please ensure this commendation is placed in her permanent personnel file and that she is officially considered for the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.
