Anna Brown is a dedicated nurse who shows compassion for her patients. I have worked with Anna on many occasions both on the Neuroscience and CSU in the past.Anna has had several safety successes reported over the past couple of years. She is always upbeat and positive.
Anna shows her kind heart in many ways, whether it is helping a coworker, a patient, or their family. Recently, I ran into Anna in the gift shop.She greeted me as I approached her at the cash register and we talked briefly about her having a very busy day. I noticed a brush, a container, and a small snack in her hand. Anna said that these were not for her but for a patient.This patient, as Anna explained, needed to feel better.The patient's hair, being very long, was pretty matted from being in bed.Anna was bringing the brush and conditioner upstairs to help to comb through her patient's hair. She then said that the snack was also a surprise for her patient for finishing one of her therapies.
Anna is a great model for what we as nurses should be doing: helping our patients both physically and mentally, and improving their experience while here at Genesis.
Anna is truly a patient advocate and an awesome nurse. I am honored to not only work beside her but to call her a friend.
