Anna was my grandpa's nurse during his recent stay in CVICU. He had a STEMI, was not feeling well and did not have an appetite. Anna was observant and noticed that he wasn't drinking his vanilla Ensure so she asked him what his favorite flavor was. Anna made a phone call to request chocolate Glucerna for him and was kind enough to make him a chocolate "milkshake" when it arrived on the unit. She always made sure that he was clean and that his bed linens were clean and straight. Anna's kindness, compassion, and attentiveness to the small things made my grandpa feel safe and cared for during a very scary time. She came by again a couple of days later to say Hi and his face lit up! He really liked her and appreciated everything Anna did for him. Our family was also touched by her kindness. My grandpa passed away a couple of days later on another unit, but we find comfort in knowing he was very well cared for during his stay in the CVICU.
Anna is a DAISY Nurse because of the kindness and compassion that she shows her patients and their family members. She was an angel to my grandpa!
