Anna Crick, RN

My husband had been admitted for a GI Bleed. I had gone home that night and was called by the Chaplain @ 2149 to come back because my husband had coded. I then stayed in his room.

We first met Anna the next day on day shift. From the time she introduced herself, she was kind, caring, knowledgeable, and compassionate. Always popping her head in between normal times she needed to be in the room to perform the orders given for my husband and her other patients, asking him if he needed anything and also asking if I needed anything. Then the next day when she started her shift, everything was the same as the day before.

Later that afternoon, after my husband collapsed on the toilet after returning from Nuclear Med, she jumped right in to revive him. He was then transferred to ICU. I really wanted Anna to be his RN in the ICU. Then after her shift was over, this lovely young lady even came to see us both in ICU. She even asked us both if there was anything we needed or anything she could do for us. She also asked me if I was ok and hugged me.

I went to the Oncology unit the following day looking for the Nurse Supervisor to let her know what an exceptional RN Anna is, and I learned that Anna is a newer RN. Of all the RN's we had during this stay, Anna stood out above and beyond. Don't get me wrong, we had other good Nurses, but there is just something special I see in Anna. 

Anna, you ROCK, and I see you doing great things in your future as a Registered Nurse. Being an RN myself for 20 years and 12 years of that being in the ER, I have a little insight to make the prediction that you will do great things. Thank you, Anna!!!
