Anna Edge was one of my nurses during my 12-day stay at Mercy Fairfield. I knew immediately upon meeting her that she was an exceptional nurse. She was friendly, professional and she explained to me each action or medication she was administering. She is very thorough and listened intently to my comments, questions, and concerns, as if I was her only patient. She always responded to my “pushing the button” for help and if she could not come to the room right away, she would tell me when she would be able to arrive. This is important to a patient to know that someone has heard your request for help and will respond. She was very patient considering my frequent requests for help and being out of sorts at times. She was never curt or frustrated with me but focused on the task at hand. She never forgot a request for a specific item; she always followed up. She did an excellent job of letting me know when procedures were scheduled so that I was not surprised when the transport person showed up. She is a very compassionate nurse. She stopped by to see how I was doing even though she was working in another section of the floor. That is care worthy of recognition and I would like to say thank you to Anna for such exceptional care. My wife and I would like to wish her happiness and health as she goes forward in her career and personal life.
