The patient’s father believes that Anna managed everything perfectly, which led to their son’s successful transfer, where he could receive the surgery needed.
A patient’s father called to rave about the care that Anna provided their son on March 12th. Their 49-year-old son came into the Emergency Department via ambulance. The patient was at St. Luke’s earlier that day and started to hemorrhage around 9 p.m. while at home.

Anna took phenomenal care of their son the entire time before he was transported. Their son was in very serious condition, needing urology care at St. Luke’s. Anna remained calm and confident while taking care of the patient until about 6 a.m. when a bed finally opened at St. Luke’s. Anna was very personable the whole time, irrigating the catheter almost the entire time of their stay, only leaving the bedside to talk to the physicians from St. Luke’s.

Anna was able to clearly explain what was happening and made them feel confident when she talked to St. Luke’s regarding their son’s next steps. The patient’s father believes that Anna managed everything perfectly, which led to their son’s successful transfer, where he could receive the surgery needed.

The father explained that he knows that Anna does this every day, but he greatly appreciated the time, patience, clear explanations, and not giving up on their son. The patient’s mother is a retired nurse, and they both would like Anna to recognize her with the highest accolades.

The father mentioned and offered for Anna to call the patient’s mother to find out how his miraculous and very complex care went at St. Luke’s, which involved the top three urology surgeons at St. Luke’s to consult with a specialist from Pennsylvania. The family believes that Anna had a direct role in his very unique and complex case.
