I walked into the room of my daughter and saw what I perceived as a lifeless body. I had called a few hours previously and was told she was a little fussy but ok. Anna must have seen the look on my face as the nurse practitioner had just called me to tell me she's going to surgery. Anna didn't know that I'm a nurse myself, not a pediatric nurse, and for sure not in a nurse mind frame seeing my daughter like that. She comforted me. She explained everything before and after surgery. She treated my daughter like her own and with such care that I can't even explain. She answered every question I had as they must have sounded silly. I could barely think. All I kept thinking was my daughter who was already a miracle looked lifeless. My husband was working out of town and my parents are deceased. Again, she had no idea. She was my support. Not only did she provide exceptional nursing care to my daughter, but she was so caring and empathetic. For sure a rare gem.
