Where do I begin? My client and I came into L&D at the request of her midwife. When we arrived, Anna was the nurse assigned. She asked the mother questions about her desires, goals, and what the situation was that brought her into the hospital. After taking time to really hear and understand, Anna helped this client know and see all her options, pros and cons, and asked her what she wanted in her care. The client decided she did not want to be induced as there was not a medical indication to do so. Anna talked to the midwife, encouraging the client to do so as well. I have never, in all 9 years of work as a doula, had a nurse who was this amazing, and who walked a client this well through informed consent. The client went into labor on her own the next day and had a beautiful, unmedicated birth. Thank you, Anna!
