Anna is an amazing nurse and charge nurse. She has continuously been an amazing resource and completes her duties above and beyond expectations when it comes to the patients she cares for and the ones admitted to the floor when she is charge nurse. Her continued demonstration of the commitment of patient safety and care is what brings me to write this letter to you. You see, I am a Central Staffing float and there are times when the floor is very heavy and some of the things Anna is used to taking care of, we as floats don't see often. The last few times I have come to Gen 6 Acute she has been charge, has continuously been a resource, and protected the oncology patients on the floor by doing extra research due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. I witnessed this on the last 3 floats to the floor. Her clinical expertise along with her compassion for the patients has helped to get the patients off of the floor and to the places they needed to be to receive the treatment and testing they needed as well as kept the floor 'cleaner' by removing possible threats to the patients with illnesses that make them more susceptible to the virus. Her compassion for her patients and for the unit's patients is like no other. I am proud to work by her side as a nurse. I would like for her to have the recognition she deserves for the acts she does that go over and above to keep not only the patients safe but protect them from what they do not know or see. Anna is what every nurse should be and has helped me to be a better nurse in many ways as well. She has helped me with transport of patients, helped clean patients up, and helped to call doctors when my plate was overwhelming.
