Anna was compassionate, made a connection, tried to distract my daughter who was in pain by talking about her kids and different Disney movies and shows. And when we were in the ED the next night and she came on shift she was so happy to see us (despite the circumstances) that she distracted us from the situation. She put us at ease and lessened the worry, which is a key attribute of an ED nurse. She also kept us apprised of everything that was going on.
