Anna provides excellent and compassionate care on a daily basis. In her role as the pediatric liaison nurse, she advises the Emergency Department team in best practices related to care of children in need of emergency services. Her expertise stood out when a teenager was brought to the emergency room for treatment after a raccoon bite. Anna consulted the public health department to ensure he was provided with the appropriate treatment and coordinated with the pharmacy and the emergency physicians to obtain the correct treatment and dosage. Her ongoing communication with the teen's mother about the treatment plan and instructions for follow-up care relieved much her anxiety about her son's condition and his possible exposure to rabies.
