Anna has received several nominations. She recently transferred from NeuroMedical to Care Management.
Nomination 1:
I nominate a most amazing nurse for the DAISY Award. I have been a hospital patient several times over the years for heart surgery, stroke, etc. Throughout my numerous hospitalizations I have been cared for by many wonderful nurses, but Anna was by far the best. I cannot really put it all on paper. She just has something special about her that makes her stand out above all the others. WH - patient
Nomination 2:
Anna has been like an "Angel" for our family and my father. Her care and sensitivity to providing care is readily apparent. Not just the way she cares for my dad, but also the way she cares for me. For example, I needed her help when I was trying to order my lunch as I was having a difficult time expressing and communicating my concerns and needs in English. Anna was very helpful to me despite her limited Spanish. My dad and my family feel so blessed to have had Anna for our nurse because she is so outstanding. Despite all the other things Anna had to do and our unique family circumstances, she took the time to explain everything to us, to help us understand the plan of care, and to help my dad find a place to go following discharge. Thank you Anna - "Dios te bendiga!" LC & MC - family
Nomination 3:
I have only worked with Anna for seven months so far but in those months I have grown to have the utmost respect for her. She is truly an amazing nurse and patient advocate. She truly has such a caring and compassionate heart for her patients, and for all the patients on the floor. Anna is willing to help when needed and does her best to keep our patients safe, their voices heard and their needs met. She deserves the DAISY Award because in the midst of all the changes on our unit, Anna is a light in the darkness. I nominate Anna because she is truly a nurse that cares. CC - coworker
Nomination 4:
I work on the same nursing unit as Anna. One day I was caring for a patient who was so upset and frustrated about being in the hospital. Anna and I were in and out of this patient's room constantly. Not only was she helping me provide quality care to my patients, she also showed what an outstanding person she is by taking the time to just sit down and talk and listen to this patient. The patient finally was comfortable talking to Anna and trusted her enough to state her main concern - that she wanted to die. Anna talked to her about God, and how she had so much to live for here on earth. Most importantly, they prayed together. After that we all had big bright smiles on our faces for the rest of the day. Praise God for nurses like Anna. KJ - coworker
