I was admitted to 4 North with a serious illness just hours after my husband of 45 years passed away from a similar illness. Anna was incredible! She went above and beyond to care for me both physically and emotionally. I was really struggling with my pain and grief. If I got worked up, my pain increased and my breathing became more difficult. Anna was always right there coaching me through and encouraging me and also my grown children.
One day Anna came in (she wasn't my assigned RN that day) and sat down beside me. She handed me a devotional and said, "Here, I want you to have this. This helped me through a very difficult time in my life and I hope it will help you, too." All of us shared tears together. Anna, your compassion, and thoughtfulness meant the world to me and my family. The compassion is what we remember most.
