Dr. Cockerham first earned the Certified Nurse Educator credential in 2014 and renewed it in 2019. She recently published a chapter in Varney's Midwifery (6th ed.). She successfully applied for Associate Professor in 2013 and Professor in 2019. She has 12 years of full-time teaching experience. She won the Spring 2019 Circle of Caring Award. During her Associate Dean of Academic Affairs tenure, mentoring faculty and administrator colleagues was reported as one of the most significant aspects of her role. Outside FNU, she serves as the chairperson of the Board of Commissioners of the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME).
