It is with great pleasure that I nominate Anne Corbett for The DAISY Nurse Leader Award. In addition to performing her management responsibilities at an exemplary level, she demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to her team as well as the organization. Anne takes it upon herself to provide exceptional support and service to new team members and new leaders always with a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and compassion. Anne discerns quickly their individual needs and moves efficiently to provide key information, recommendations, or direction. Beyond this and during times of transition, she has voluntarily stepped up to co-chair a leadership council and arranged numerous guest speakers for the meetings all in an effort to drive motivation in her team and bring out the best in everyone! She instills confidence in others, especially new nurse leaders. A recent quote “Anne Corbett is a wonderful ambassador for our organization….In assisting leaders, and her team, she is continuously motivating them and finding ways to make others successful."

Another example is that many nurse managers visit her office, myself included as she is known as the “go-to” for many, she is compassionate, accessible, available to all, and an exemplary resource in the organization. She often performs above and beyond and recently offered her commitment and planning skills to navigate a detailed Nurse Exec review course for all nurse leaders in the organization. Even though this was not required of her, she did so willingly and cheerfully. 

To confirm her commitment to serving the organization and her team, a nurse leader shared, “Over the last few years, I have known Anne to be a dynamic colleague ..always with a positive attitude and exceptional in everything she does. Her attention to detail and loyalty to others has motivated so many. She is an exemplary nurse leader, a champion in her leadership role, and an advocate with a tireless commitment to serving our organization and the profession of nursing.”
