The family of CW has chosen to recognize the Surgical Care Unit and the Progressive Care Unit for their outstanding teamwork, superior service, professionalism, efficiency and calm presence during a difficult transition of care between units during a planned surgical stay. When CW had to move from the SCU to the PCU for a higher level of care, Anne Day and her teammates worked efficiently to make a smooth transition not only for CW but also for the entire family. As care was transferred to the PCU, they continued to uphold the level of care and service that the SCU had done previously. They cared for the whole family, while understanding and explaining what was going on with CW. Unfortunately, CW passed away during this time; even though it was such a difficult personal time, the family felt the need to recognize the nursing staff of the SCU and PCU and the wonderful care that they provided to their entire family.
