Anne exhibited compassion and empathy that went above and beyond the call of duty with a patient and her recently deceased baby. There was a trauma patient who lost her baby (24 weeks). Anne and the bedside nurse M, gave the deceased baby a bath and dressed him in clothes so the family could get pictures before the coroner came to take him. This type of practice is not new to someone working at Riley or an OB unit, however, this unit is not a unit that deals with having dead babies in their rooms, let alone prepping the body with a bath and clothing. Anne and M showed love, compassion, and empathy towards this family and honored the short life of this baby, I was touched by their care and compassion.
