Annie has been a valued employee of Dignity Health for 42 years! She started her career here as a brand new nurse and has continued to provide her patients with the highest quality care.
Annie is the kind of nurse that everyone hopes they have when they come into the hospital. She is full of knowledge that only her many years of experience could bring and goes above and beyond to make sure her patients are safe. She not only ensures that each patient receives the best care, but establishes a relationship with each patient so that they feel calm before their procedure. Annie is always the nurse to give her patients a laugh before they go into surgery.
Annie is not only an outstanding nurse for her patients but a valued team member to her colleagues. Anne comes to work rain or shine, every day, ready to tackle the busy caseloads in Lithotripsy. From the moment Annie walks into the department she is go, go, go! When something needs to get done she takes it upon herself to do it and never expects it to be done by someone else. She takes pride and ownership in the department but never asks for recognition. She is flexible so that everyone in the department meets the hours they need. She is even willing to come in on her day off when we are really busy and the wheels are falling off the cart. There are not many people that would do that! Annie never wants to leave her team when they could use her help and we are forever grateful for her.
Annie is retiring this year and although she will be missed we are all so happy that she and her husband will be entering the next joyous chapter in their lives. I'm sure there are many motorcycle rides in her future without the worry of work the next day. She will also get to catch up on some sewing and spend some quality time with her mom and family.
We are so grateful for Annie and are proud of her outstanding nursing. There will never be another Annie and whoever joins us after she is gone will have huge shoes to fill (even though hers are a tiny size 6).
We love you Annie and think you are a true DAISY Nurse.
Here are some things your colleagues love about you:
"Here in Litho, Anne is always one step ahead of you. Her years of experience here have taught her to anticipate anything and everything. I hope to be at least half the nurse Anne has been.
"Annie has taught me a lot of urology tricks to make things easier on the patient, but most importantly, to always free the bags!"
"Annie is the best co-worker I have ever had in 40+ years."
"I have had the privilege to work with Annie in Lithotripsy for the last 25 years. She is the most dedicated and hardworking nurse I have ever known. Her passion and love for patient care shows every day in her interactions with patients and their families as well as with physicians and fellow coworkers. Her sense of humor and positive outlook is something I can always expect from Annie and makes for a very enjoyable work environment in Lithotripsy."
