Anne Marie was nominated for the DAISY Award by a family member of one of her patients. In the nomination, they complimented Anne Marie's patience with her questions and willingness to listen to suggestions, following-up on one suggestion, which "made a world of difference in pain control".
In receiving the DAISY Award, Anne Marie stated, "Honestly, I am tremendously humbled to receive this award. Providing compassionate patient care has always been very important to me, and I tried to teach that to my students and to model it to other nurses. But I also know that many other nurses in this facility are as deserving if not more so of this award. I was just fortunate to have a patient's family take the time to put their thoughts in writing."
