Anne McCarty, RN

I would like to recommend Nurse Ann McCarty of the Imaging Department at Northside Hospital Duluth for the DAISY Award. Nurse Ann has displayed great professionalism combined with the utmost care for the patient. Compassion is a word many people would express when thinking of a nurse, and Ann has a lot of compassion for her patients. Our journey started when my wife was diagnosed with cancer. We made several trip to the imaging department at Duluth, and all of the staff is fantastic, just fantastic; from "K" at the front desk, and the nurses "P, C, and T," the doctors, and others. The nurses and doctors, and other staff are all great, and to be honest, it was hard to choose only one nurse for the award. As a Charge Nurse, we believe that Nurse McCarty is largely responsible for the efficient and caring running of the unit, and she represents all of the nurses in the department. Ann showed her professional side to us and also her compassionate side during our visits. When a tough decision had to be made, she could be a true professional/leader and make it. Then, when compassion was called for, Ann was right there with a boatload of it for us. Needless to say, this is a wonderful combination in a person and very rare to find. It is with great pleasure that I recommend this most deserving recognition for Nurse Ann McCarty of the DAISY Award.
