When my mom was taken off the ventilator, Annelise stayed by her side holding her hand and rubbing my mom's head trying to comfort her during her last moments.
The day I lost my mom to Covid was certainly the worst day of my life. The only thing to bring me comfort was the care that my mom received from her nurse. Annelise went above and beyond for my mom and my family. Walking onto the ICU floor is a daunting experience made even worse by knowing that my mom was there. She answered all our questions with patience and kindness. She advocated for us to be with our mom in any way we could during her last few hours. The care she gave my mom was beyond what I could have expected.
When my mom was taken off the ventilator, Annelise stayed by her side holding her hand and rubbing my mom's head trying to comfort her during her last moments. Not being able to be in the room myself was the hardest part of all this but it gave me comfort to know that Annalise was there by her side, talking to her and being with her in ways we could not. She never once treated my mom like just another patient. I will truly never forget her kindness, empathy, and endless compassion.
