The recreation therapist that was scheduled one weekend to play Bingo had to cancel. Knowing the residents would be very disappointed, not only because they love Bingo but because several of their outside activities have been curtailed because of COVID. Ms. Cox took it upon herself to print out Bingo cards, found Bingo markers and an app to call out numbers. Ms. Cox also went to the store and purchased prizes and snacks. With her leadership she and other staff members on 5B were able to play Bingo Saturday and Sunday, making it the highlight of the residents' day. Ms. Cox also made a “Missing Soldier Table” on 5B. A “Missing Soldier Table” is a table with a table setting with specific items on it and an empty chair signifying those veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice and are unable to return home. The residents and staff members were very moved by this and appreciated this moving tribute. These are just 2 things Ms. Cox has done for our veterans in the last several months, she goes above and beyond every day.
