During my 2 years as an RN in the Birthing Center, I have watched Annette grow from being Assistant Manager to her current position of Manager. Over that time her organizational and communication skills have led her team to two successful years of growing healthy families here at Henry Ford West Bloomfield. Annette has worked staff on many occasions when our unit has high census; she is fully supportive of AWHONN staffing guidelines and has been proactive in hiring many new employees for our unit.
On a personal level, Annette was selected as an "Emerging Leader" by the Association of Women's Health and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). This shows, not only our unit, management, and hospital know that she can and will do great things, but also that our national organization identifies that in her. Annette is fully supportive of and involved in the "Silent Witness" annual program to honor victims of domestic violence, and of our annual Perinatal Loss Memorial service.
Annette has personally supported and encouraged me to participate in several things I would have not otherwise known about including the Quality Expo this year at Henry Ford Main, and taking me to participate in the HFWB daily safety huddle. It is without reservation that I feel Annette deserves the Daisy Award for Leadership.
Note: This is Annette's second DAISY Award!
