Annie's passion for providing the best care possible is absolutely unmatched. Her compassion attention to detail and advocacy for her patients is something that has impacted many.

One specific example that stands out is Annie had a very young patient who needed to be listed for transplant but didn't meet listing criteria due to several complex social emotional and behavioral barriers. When others decided this patient wouldn't get there despite several attempts by the team they transitioned the care to a palliative approach as it was seen that no other option was available. Annie never waivered in her belief that with grace, compassion and the right support they would be able to make the modifiable changes to get them listed. Annie quietly coached, advocated, and helped this patient to get the resource they needed to become listable. After a two-year battle, the patient was listed for transplant an opportunity many never thought this patient would get. Her support and care didn't stop there she continued to ensure the patient stayed the course and maintained active transplant status and not long after received their life-saving heart transplant. This is an opportunity they would not have had if it weren't for Annie's advocacy.

Beyond just this one life-changing situation there are countless patients who experience her kindness knowledge and grace each and every day. She has undoubtedly changed lives because of the care she provides. There is no one more deserving of this award than Annie Malinn.
