Annie Sample, BSN, RN

I entered Riddle Hospital in early February due to Acute Congestive Heart Failure and pulmonary hypertension. During my 2-month stay, I had a few room changes. I was moved to rehab and back and eventually landed on 5PAV. One evening, I was told by my cardiologist that I was being transferred to Lankenau Hospital for more tests. I, of course, was concerned but understood the need for the change. He then said I would be taken from Riddle to Lankenau by helicopter! A few minutes later, Annie, who was my caregiver for the evening, explained she would help with the changeover. Annie went above and beyond her nursing duties. She asked me if I needed anything. I told her no. She went about her duties and came back and forth to clean and put together my belongings. She didn’t miss a thing. She then turned her attention to me and started prepping me for the helicopter trip. I was so frightened, but she sat with me and helped me calm down. She made sure I was cleaned up and that all my meds were on board. She did all this with a lovely smile! She comforted me and helped me get through one of the most difficult moments in my life!

She’s a lovely girl with a bubbly personality. I can’t say enough about how much she helped me, as I’m sure she does everyone she comes in contact with. She kept saying, “You're my first helicopter ride”!!
