Not once did she give up on me, even when I had completely given up on myself.
There are no words to describe how grateful I am for Annie’s help and support. I was a patient at Cotswold House eating disorder unit in Marlborough for almost 18 months over 3 separate admissions. She was my primary nurse each time and not once did she give up on me, even when I had completely given up on myself. Every time she was on shift, no matter how busy it was, she would always fit in time to talk to me, to reassure me, manage to make me laugh, smile and give me a hug. She got me through many meals and snacks no matter long it took. She came with me to appointments over an hour away at a hospital in Oxford which were extremely mentally draining for me but quite literally her being there helped more than I can begin to explain.

My family is extremely grateful for how well she looked after me. The hospital was over 2 hours away from home and my parents were unable to visit often due the distance and my Dad’s ill health. I know that Annie made them feel reassured at a time when everything felt completely hopeless and bleak.

She quite literally went above and beyond to support me in every aspect possible. Many weekends Annie would wash, straighten and plait my hair for me because I couldn’t manage to do this myself. I will never forget the never-ending list of ways Annie made such a positive difference and impact on my care whilst being in hospital. She somehow managed to help bring out better parts of me that for so long I had lost. She truly is incredible.
