Annmarie is an exceptional nurse in the operating room. She is always kind, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. She consistently goes above and beyond to help other team members within the perioperative division. One specific situation in the operating room we were scheduled in experienced multiple changes in cases. This required her to tear down extensive surgical setups and assist other members of the team in setting up new case carts for different surgical specialties quickly and safely to allow for prompt care to be provided. One of these cases had a drastic change in acuity, requiring rapid elevation of care, communication with other departments, and immediate treatment. Annmarie did not hesitate to offer assistance in checking blood products, assisting the anesthesia provider in the room with patient stabilization and lab draws, and making the appropriate phone calls to obtain a critical care bed, all while doing so professionally, patiently, and calmly. She continues to be a strong advocate for the children cared for here at CHOP. She is consistently willing to aid colleagues in their tasks in addition to her own. The operating room is quite lucky to have her!
