Anthea Chironda, RN

Anthea Chironda always shows empathy and compassion when caring for her patients. In December, a situation occurred where a patient was coding, and even though she was not assigned to the patient, she could be seen supporting the team every step of the way. I felt comfortable knowing she was there, and with her support, we were able to communicate with the patient's family during the rapidly evolving situation, which helped keep matters under control. She was there with me to give the family some words of comfort. Anthea also completed her LEAN certification at UHN and actively engages with patients and families as a professional practice leader on the unit to improve safety for patient care on the unit and across UHN.
