July 2026 Honoree
Anthony Bel Cruz, RN
I would like to commend Anthony Bel Cruz. Aside from the fact that Anthony is a phenomenal nurse, I would like to speak to his mentorship and professionalism. Anthony treats everyone he encounters with the utmost respect. He is always willing to precept nursing students, and I mean always! He will have students back-to-back-to-back and provides them with the most positive experience. He never makes them feel like a burden or like they are in the way. He also provides students with extra learning opportunities.
Recently, while he was precepting a student from UAA, I had students in the building from APU. He willingly took all the students to an empty room and did an impromptu simulation with them on infant resuscitation. The positive impact he single-handedly has on so many students should not go unnoticed. And he does this above and beyond his "normal" duties in Pediatrics, PICU, or NICU. I have never seen him with anything but a smile on his face, and I appreciate his positivity, skill, and willingness to mentor. ANMC is very lucky to have Anthony!
