This honoree is recognized because he exemplifies the core values of compassion and collaboration. He is great with our patients. He is therapeutic with them and makes them feel comfortable asking questions. He builds a rapport with them and will often have them laughing, which is great for their recovery. He is great at setting boundaries and keeping mutual respect and understanding with our patients. The atmosphere changes when this nurse is not working. He works hard and never complains (which is hard on 3rd shift). He never brings his baggage into work like a lot of us do. He’s fair and consistent; he’s a great leader and someone I learn from every day. He’s a busy dad of five little girls and still comes to work with a fresh mind and a positive attitude. He is an essential part of our team, and I know we will have a great night if he is here. He definitely deserves this award. Lastly, his de-escalation skills are great!
