Anthony Schwartz, BSN, RN
My mother was admitted to St. Mary’s, and that is where I met Anthony. When a rapid response was called, he was at the bedside within seconds. He took the lead role and was clear and calm. He was confident, efficient, and let my mom know that he would take care of her.
During the acute event, Anthony remained by her side and comforted her, but was also clear and direct. When she woke up in the ICU, she asked: "Where is that tall nurse who stayed with me and saved my life?"
Anthony stopped in to say hello and to encourage my mom as to how much progress she was showing. She asked if she could hold his hand. Anthony held her hand and showed genuine compassion and care.
My mom thanked him for saving her, and he selflessly stated, “It was all your strength, not me.” This really shows what an incredible human being he is.
My mom is making strides every day, and we so greatly appreciate his quick response, critical thinking, and authority to get her the higher level of care she needed.
