He is a genuine human being who loves his job and cares about all the patients he sees.
1st Nomination
I was experiencing tightness and pressure in my chest. It turned out to be a GI issue and not cardiac related. From the moment I checked in, Anthony was courteous, helpful, and respectful. He administered an IV and answered all of my questions very professionally, and I found him to be very understanding. My visit to the ER was as pleasant as I could have hoped for, thanks to Anthony.

2nd Nomination
My husband was in a mule accident and arrived at the emergency room by ambulance. When I had arrived and was brought back to see my husband, Tony was intently hooking him up to the things he needed. He acknowledged me with a hello and smile and kept answering all the repeated questions my husband had. My husband had a concussion and a broken wrist. My husband kept asking the same five questions and repeating the same comments for three to four hours.

Through that time, I continued answering my husband and staying as calm as I could. Tony would answer my husband’s repeated questions when he was in the room as well. After hours of asking the same exact thing, I was becoming frustrated myself, and Tony could sense that. I tried not to let my husband see the frustration as I knew he couldn't help it. Tony was by my husband's bedside and was explaining to him how a concussion worked. He walked him through the steps and what it would take to heal.

He was extremely patient and genuine when he was talking to my husband about his concussion. He was explaining the situation to try to help my husband understand what he was going through, but also to give me some relief in answering the same questions. His knowledge as a nurse was top-notch. My husband had a lot of needs that day, anything from using the restroom to needing more ice, a higher elevation for his arm, and repeated questions. He smiled while holding a urinal for my husband to use (more than once), he smiled when more ice was needed, he smiled every time he had to readjust my husband, and he smiled every time he answered the same question my husband had asked.

Tony not only made sure my husband was always comfortable, but that I was comfortable and didn't need anything, as well as our 7-year-old son, who was with me. There was a point in time when things had calmed down, and we were waiting for X-ray and scan results. Tony looked at my son and me and asked if we had been in the ER before. I replied that we probably had been, and he looked familiar.

After we determined that I was in the ER 3 1/2 years ago with my then 3-month-old for some bloodwork, it hit me! Tony was the nurse whom I raved to everyone about for weeks. My 3-month-old at the time was a baby, had very small veins, and was fussy. Another nurse had tried to help us for a while, and then came Tony. Tony gently started singing to my baby. He was very intently checking veins and working on getting the needle into my son. All while focusing on helping my son, he never once stopped softly singing to my baby. He got the needle in and continued singing to my baby. The next thing I know, the baby is sleeping, and the bloodwork was getting done.

Fast forward back to the current visit, my infant, who is now 4, came in to see his dad, and Tony greeted him and told him that he was one of his favorite memories. The day he sang a baby to sleep. I should have nominated him for this 3 1/2 years ago, but I didn't know about it. After the care that Tony provided to my husband this weekend, more than once, because we had to return the next day, and the care that he provided to my son years ago. We are more than grateful for Tony and his mannerisms. He is a genuine human being who loves his job and cares about all the patients he sees. The world needs more Anthony Settineris in it!

3rd Nomination
We were in the ER for 6 days, and we had great care from everyone. We only know Tony’s name, but we would like to recommend everyone who was involved in our care. Thank you.
