Antoinette Brown, RN was the first Daisy Award recipient for Saint Luke’s East – Lee’s Summit. The Daisy Award honors extraordinary nurses who with their education, training, skill, judgment, and compassion are truly making a difference in the lives of so many people! Daisy Nurses are role models for the clinical expertise, compassionate care and exemplary service that our hospital strives to deliver each day. Antointette was honored by SLELS Administration and coworkers after receiving multiple nominations by both patients and peers.
Antionette joined the Saint Luke’s Health System in 1996 and started her nursing career at Saint Luke’s Hospital in 2000. She became a member of the Saint Luke’s East – Lee’s Summit Medical Surgical Unit in 2008. Since joining the team, Antionette has been a strong role model for providing compassionate care in line with our core values. She is an integral part of the night shift team and is well respected by peers and physicians, as well as staff throughout the hospital.
