My wife died and I was hospitalized at the same time to have open-heart surgery. Antoinette was my nurse during this time. She helped me tremendously.
The doctors saved my life, but Antoinette saved my life, too. I was in the hospital for quite a while and it was rough. I had to go into surgery for a second time and Antoinette was the person to help me. The efficiency in her work helped me get through such a difficult time. The nights she was working, she was my nurse and I felt as if she wanted to help me. She got me going. She combed my hair. She got me out of bed and got me walking. The more she got me doing things, the better I got and the better I felt.
Antoinette helped me in every way possible and was there when I needed her. She stood out the most and definitely has the empathy and compassion for the job that I have not seen in a very long time. It gets me very emotional talking about it. This is why it took me a long time to tell someone about it.
I got good care, and everyone was great, but Antoinette was exceptional. I honestly don't think I would have made it through without her.
