Antonia Peterkin, RN

Antonia extended her compassion to both the patient and his wife. She helped them find a room and a space where the wife could stay comfortably to help care for her husband. Antonia was a superhero who helped calm her patient and wife whilst placing a second IV. The patient's wife was upset about the need for the second IV, and she made her feel reassured. She made the patient feel special, recognizing his military service. She continually checked on both the patient and wife to ensure they had everything they needed and that they were both made to feel comfortable. The wife expressed that she was so happy that Antonia was looking after her husband as it made her feel reassured and she was finally able to get rest after 4 nights by her husband’s side. She always honored the patients’ needs, and the family is so thankful that Antonia made a difficult stay the best it could be. Antonia you don't just show up to your job, you show up to make a difference. You are a source of brightness in our day.
