Antonio Foreman always showed a genuine concern for our son and us, the family, through his patient, compassionate and empathetic approach to caring for our son, the patient, and even more importantly, caring for our son, the person. Our son was intubated and the only way he could communicate was using a QWERTY board (aka alphabet board). It would take him a long time to point to the letters to form the words he wanted to say. Antonio was patient waiting for him to spell out his thoughts. When our son expressed worry or being afraid, Antonio provided him comfort by touching his arm and speaking softly offering words of reassurance. Our son was on the wait list for surgery and Antonio was his patient advocate. He called down to OR numerous times to follow upon when surgery was scheduled to take place. Always informing us of any updates. Antonio went down to surgery with our son to ‘cheer him on.’ Antonio went so far as to pick up a fourth day to provide care to our son and help him achieve his goal of getting stronger and being moved from ICU to step down. Antonio possesses traits that go beyond textbook medicine. He displays a unique caring heart and a passion for his chosen career.
