Anu Thomas, RN

Anu was my nurse on the night of my post-op admission. She impressed me as an astute clinician and a compassionate human being. I could not have asked for better nursing care. I had colon surgery to remove a cancer mass in my colon, as well as my ascending colon. I only slept about two hours, but during this time, I soiled the bed. I was embarrassed, to say the least, but Anu, a consummate professional, assured me that these things happen post-operatively and that I should not worry about it. She and two PCAs cleaned up both the bed and me. They all treated me with dignity and respect at a time when I was feeling horrible and helpless—competent and compassionate care. I cannot say enough good things about Anu. I have also been struggling with severe depression and anxiety since adolescence when my mom died. Anu did a great job caring for a nervous and complex patient.
