June 2026 Honoree
April Brietenback, RN BSN
About a month ago, my husband stayed on 4E post knee replacement washout. We both were stressed about that surgery, especially following weeks of infection after the initial surgery. We needed to come to Hanover from Lancaster, more than an hour drive one way, but it ended up being a blessing. The folks at your hospital are a delight. The care by one nurse, in particular, was outstanding.
April immediately made us feel like Dave was in good hands. She was generous with her time and was kind and professional despite a very busy workload on the floor. She was clearly a leader among her peers. We were right outside the nurses' station and often heard other staff members asking for her when a situation was difficult or needed a hand. She was proactive in sharing information when he needed a CT scan, which made it so much more efficient. We can't say enough about the care April extended us both, as a patient and a family member, at a very difficult time. Our sincerest thanks to her!
