I had a heart attack, a very scary event in my life. I lost my mother three and a half weeks ago at the age of 88 (when I was in the ICU). It was very calming. When I was moved to this unit, things became very overwhelming for me. I sat in the shower on a shower seat for two hours crying my eyes out because of the patient screaming next to me. Trying to handle all of this was more than I could bear. Then came this young nurse by the name of April, God sent her to me. She let me cry and just did not rush me, and I know she was busy. We, or should I say, I talked, she showed complete compassion, love, and calming words. I can't thank her enough. It's hard for traumatic things to happen to you and even though all the nurses were great, April is the one that helped me with what I needed the most, a caring heart. God bless every doctor and nurse who cared for me.

Thank you, April, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
