I wanted to personally recognize one of your extraordinary nurses, April Day, for the exceptional care she provided to my father during our Emergency Department visit on Saturday evening.
April was the intake RN working alongside the provider, and the moment she saw my dad, she immediately recognized him from over a year ago. She remembered him from the visit when she identified his abnormal troponin results and advocated for further evaluation. Because of her sharp clinical judgment, attention to detail, and willingness to speak up, my father remained in the hospital and received the care he needed. This was a pivotal moment in his care, and our family has never forgotten her compassion and dedication.
This past Saturday, April once again provided outstanding care. She was compassionate, attentive, reassuring, and made us feel genuinely cared for during a stressful time. Her ability to remember my father after all this time, combined with the kindness and professionalism she showed us, truly speaks to the exceptional nurse she is.
What impressed me even more was observing how she cared for every patient around us. Despite an extremely busy Emergency Department, April remained calm, efficient, and unwaveringly compassionate. She treated each patient with dignity and respect, taking the time to listen, advocate, and ensure their concerns were addressed. Her ability to balance clinical excellence with genuine human connection is truly remarkable.
My father specifically asked me to ensure that her leadership knows how grateful he is for the care she has provided. He wanted to make certain that April receives the recognition she so truly deserves for her extraordinary professionalism, clinical expertise, and compassionate patient-centered care.
She exemplifies the very best of nursing through her compassion, advocacy, clinical excellence, and unwavering commitment to her patients. She has made a profound difference in my father’s life on more than one occasion, and it was clear to us that she brings that same level of dedication to every patient she encounters.
