April is the guru for putting together all the smart phrases and creating them in Health Connect for department use.
Short version: without April, Regional Perinatal Service Center will have a rough time rolling out new services and making workflow as smooth as possible for our staff. Long version: April is the guru for putting together all the smart phrases and creating them in Health Connect for department use. She put together the workflow manual and all the job aids to help staff navigate the work more effectively for patient care.
For example 1) for the new rollout of Remote blood glucose and remote blood pressure services, April created all the smart phrases in Health Connect. It may sound this is not important but for the nurses, it makes a world of difference in the workflow daily. She made it easy and manageable when charting and caring for patients.
2) When VAD (new phone system implemented for RPSC), was new and unfamiliar for the staff, April made job aids and showed us the way to be more sufficient when calling and caring for our patients. Because of her work, we were able to use the time for patient care instead of spending time on non-patient care. Our work day is much smoother and more enjoyable to care for our patients daily.
3) We just switched over to Referral Order from e-consult and the workload shifted to the Medical Assistant team. April was there to take on the challenge (in short span of time) of putting together the job aid to guide the Medical Assistant team to navigate the workflow. This made it easy to take care of patients in a timely manner preventing delays in care. We appreciate all the work that she does for our staff and this department. I want to recognize April for her contribution and teamwork to the staff and to the care of our patients.
