Yesterday April found that a baby had an imperforate anus before the baby became symptomatic. I have seen April notice subtle symptoms on babies many times before and when April comes to the NICU we always take her assessments very seriously. One time she felt like something wasn't right without knowing exactly what. The baby came into the NICU for observation and went downhill very quickly. If April hadn't given us a heads up the baby might have not been in the NICU and would have been out in Mom's room. I hate to think how that would have gone! We are all lucky to have April on our team.
