My first day here on admission was very devastating about my new health crisis. I was very sad crying, no hope. My whole world was crashing down on me. A nurse walked in and introduced herself as April; held my hands – “I am here for you, it will be okay. All the nurses, doctors, and all the entire team are here for you, for your speedy recovery and all the support.” She gave me tissue to clean my tears. “We have treated so many patients who all go home very happy, so will you.” She gave me a big hug and said, “It will be well with you.” Since then I have stuck to her words of advice, support, and hope she has given to empower my strength. Even when my lab work result was devastating, I heard nurse April's voice in my head, the words of encouragement, hope, and support that have kept me going. Nurse April is an extraordinary nurse who showed empathy, care, support, and hope. All the other nurses who cared for me were unique and caring, supportive, great teamwork. Super, super nurses. They are all unique in extraordinary ways. I appreciate and celebrate them all.
