I just wanted to take the time out to express my gratitude and appreciation for our nurse educator, April. When I started at Aurora BayCare I had lots of questions and worries. April addressed every question I had professionally and made me feel comfortable with the transition to the hospital. As I became more skilled in my position, there were certain things I still felt uncertain with.
With no hesitation, she was there and helped me through each step. Not only has she been a help with getting me adjusted and confident in my role here at Aurora, but she's also stepped onto the floor and physically helped when nights have been rough on many occasions. She is always so willing to pitch in wherever she can and I genuinely appreciate her for that.
She brings laughs, a warm heart, and smile, and when in need, a listening ear and shoulder to cry on. Recently my father passed, and I was in much distress and felt terrible. She reached out to me with comforting words, condolences, and assured me that if I need anything I could count on her. When I returned to work she came to the unit and found me to make sure I was okay.
She took the time out to talk with me one on one and gave me the support I needed. She also gave me a card that night with signatures and comforting words from all the med/surg floors which made me feel I wasn't alone and my coworkers had my back. For this act of kindness I am very thankful we have such a great person like her here with us. Thank you!
