Ms. Martindale displayed empathy to a Veteran with her continual reassurance of "I got you, don't worry." Just these simple words calmed this Veteran during an extremely anxious time. She remained with this Veteran until he was to see the Provider and continually reassured him with her kindness and calmness. She listened to him intently and made continual eye contact to calm him. She went with him to the appointment room and never left his side. This Veteran wanted to recognize her as the ultimate "Healers Touch" of love, compassion, patience, understanding, care, and empathy.
