My mother, on her second admission for hypoxia within 2 weeks, was taken care of by April. My mother was given an 02 evaluation while on the unit, for which April was notified that my mother had passed the test. So, she did not qualify for O2, and they were preparing for my mother to go home. As a nurse myself who cares for my mother, I found out that April, without hesitation, is a fantastic advocate for my mom. She took her concerns to the physician and requested that my mother be re-evaluated for O2, as she had assessed my mom intermittently, noting the low pulse ox. The fact that she cared and was a strong nurse, willing to go the extra mile for her patient, made me feel more secure about my mom’s care than ever before. I felt as though April cared for my mom as she would her own family. That speaks volumes to what an awesome nurse she is! I cannot express enough how grateful I am and how at peace I was when April was caring for her. Thank you for all you do and all that you are!
