A patient came into the clinic to be seen for shingles. After his visit, he was walking out of the clinic and was in a lot of pain. He was pacing in the parking lot and was confused. The front desk receptionist recognized the patient's discomfort and ran back to the nurses for help. April Pierzchalski and Sarah Kramer assisted. They brought the patient back into the clinic. While back in the clinic, they referred him to a neurologist who prescribed him a medication that changed his life.

One week later, the patient came into the clinic and approached my desk. He had flowers. He asked me to give them to the nurses who helped him. He stated, "They saved my life." He had been to six different doctors, and nothing helped the shingles and the pain. He stated, "I'm a new person now." What an honor to witness all of this. Way to go!
